Article 3 Master/Subsidiary Agreements

​Master Agreement Between the Government of the Province of Alberta and the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees​​

​3.01

The Parties agree that the terms and conditions contained in this Master Agreement are predominant. Notwithstanding the generality of the foregoing it is recognized:​ ​

​(a)

​the terms or conditions of this Agreement may be modified by mutual agreement of the Parties to meet peculiarities of particular occupational categories included in subsidiary agreements; and

​(b)

​such modified terms or conditions shall not be deemed contrary to any Article contained in this Master Agreement but shall be deemed to have force and effect as exceptions.

​3.02

Where a difference arises out of the provisions contained in an Article of the Collective Agreement, and the subject matter is also covered in Employer regulations, guidelines or directives, the Collective Agreement shall supersede the regulation, guideline or directive.​ ​

​3.03

The Parties agree that all terms and conditions contained in the Letters of Understanding and Letters of Intent contained in the Master/ Subsidiary Agreements are integral to the Collective Agreement and are subject to the grievance procedure except where the Parties have specifically stated otherwise. ​ ​​
