A person appointed to a position pursuant to the Public Service Act shall serve a probationary period.

during the probationary period may, at the discretion of the Employer, have the
probation period extended by an equivalent period to the length of that leave.
An Employee shall be notified in writing of any
extension of the probation period prior to the expiry of the probation period.
Such notification shall include the reasons for the extension.
